Left channel audio dead

I've been having this problem since I switched my motherboard to an ECS L7S7A2. I get no left channel sound from the board. If I enable 4 channel audio and plug in two pairs of speakers on both only the right channel will work. Before I get the motherboard back for replacement, is there anything else I should try? I mean, software-related.

The balance is set correctly. Note that the proggie that comes with the mobo is reporting directx 8.1 instead of 9 that dxdiag does, but I don't think that is the problem.

you plugged the plug completely into the plug-in?

one time i had the same prob and after several hours of searching the inet, new installing win2k and drivers i checked the plug :mad: ...

It certainly looks OK to me... The jack won't go completely inside but no matter how hard I press it won't go deeper.

EDIT: Fixed! :p Thanks for the advice! It went all the way in after slightly moving the jack!
