Captions to Subtitles, where in the chain of the big 3?

I was following Eyes`Only's closed captions to subtitles guide on doom9, and after creating the subtitles i wait for reauthorist to make my .scp file to import into scenarist. Then i import the newly created .sst files into the proper PGCs and compile the project.

When the final scenarist product is run, the subtitles can be turned on an off. However after merging all the files and running IFOUpdate to create the finished DVD backup, the subtitles can no longer be turned on and off. Is there something I am missing about how to add subtitles to a movie that did not have them before when using the big 3 backup guide?

Thanks for your help, i figured this didn't belong in the subtitle forum because the subtitles were created fine, i just couldn't incorporate them into a full dvd backup.

You're doing everything perfectly fine. I have no idea why the subs would not be able to be disabled.

Well since the subtitles are in the VOBs, but after IFOUpdating the original IFO's with the scenarist generated onces, the DVD no longer knows there are subtitles. I.E. the subtitles menu in the final product is empty.

Unfortunately i don't know enough about what IFOUpdate is doing to the ifo files, is it just copying updated information from the authored ifo's that it sees was present in the original ifo's? I guess that could explain why it would not copy over subtitle info from authored ifo's that was no present in the originals.

But like I say, i am not really sure what IFOUpdate is doing behind the scenes if this is indeed where the problem is.

One other thing i noticed, in the guide it says "set your colors according to doom9's guide" but there are quite a few subtitle guides now. Could that sentence perhaps be turned into a link so we can get to the correce guide? Thanks again

you must check the copy audio/sub tables checkbox.
