How do I rip the audio from a vcd (.dat file)? Sometimes tmpgenc takes the dat file and sometimes it says the file is unsupported. Is there another program to rip the audio from the vcd?

Seriously, the guides can explain it a lot better than I could... you should read them. :o

you should uses a better title or people won't help you, anyway:
convert your dat -> mpeg in vcdgear, then tmpgenc -> file ->mpeg tools -> simple de-multiplex and load your mpeg and hit run.
there are a lot of ways to extract the audio from the dvd...
