Best Standalone DVD player

I would like to purchase a new DVD player so I would appreciate suggestions specifically for DVD-R playback.
My current DVD player is a Daewoo DVG 3000N it plays everything but its starting to fail.

Almost all DVD players support DVD-R so be more specific. What other features would you like to be included? What is your price range?
