CVD encoding with regards to 4:3 and 16:9 format
I have been trying to encode a CVD for a while now following the guides I've found and following what people have been saying in various forums. After a lot of trial and error I am able to generate a CVD where the source is 16:9 to play on my dvd player, but have been unsuccessful where the source is 4:3. The guides that I've used are very useful however they stop short as to describing exactly how things are done. Only through trial and error that I discovered that my dvd player will play CVD only if I ticked the DVD compliant check box in the CCE Advance settings tab under the Encode tab and this only works when the source is 16:9. Could someone who has encoded CVD using CCE please confirm that this is correct and this is what they do also.
When the source is 4:3 the CVD generated still works but only about half the screen is used - the other half are padded up with black borders in this configuration (1/4 border - 1/2 movie - 1/4 border - top and bottom borders) - this is also the case when I run it through PowerDVD. When I take off the DVD compliant check box (where the source is either 4:3 or 16:9), the CVD generated doesn't work on my dvd player. Please help....I am running out of things to try...
Sorry I forgot to mention I am using DVD2SVCD the latest version and CCE 2.5..
