Is my cpu dead?

Hi guys,

I am running a dual XP2200+ system with modified CPU's on an Iwill MPX2 board, today on boot up it says only 1 cpu and cant do MP mode, I removed one cpu and the system identifies the remaining CPU as MP2200+ which is correct.

Putting the ohter CPU back I get the error cant MP and it runs at 753mhz, weird - it will boot but Im not running at that speed, in putting the suspicious CPU in another system it recognises it as XP2200 in Bios, but on bootup says XP1700+ and Mobile Athlon.

So I guess I think its the cpu but want to make sure before i spend my cash on another one.

dead cpus don't boot at all!

yours appears to be working
i suggest its saying 1700 cos the mobo
doesn't know about 2200s
(and default bus speed of 100 is used)

i would check L5 brige you a have probably had to closed :D

Yeah, check you L5 mod again. Time can undo your good work.
