divx to :: VCD or SVCD ?

I have some high quality divx videos and i want to make them vcd/svcd for my friend.which format will be less lossy ?

What settings i have to use if i try svcd ?

Or...

1.) SVCD, altough you can make crappy SVCD too if you want :)
2.) It depends, SVCD is quite versatile, even without using only the settings allowed by the standard.
