In desperate need of help-been stuck for months!!!

Hey guys

Firstly i was using dvd2svcd for about a yr with cce and had a no problems - worked like a dream.I then re-installed my OS (win 2000) with the following:

All the divx/xvid codecs
Avisynth 2.52
DVD2SVCD 1.1.3

Frame Aize 756x80 is not supported. Supported frame size is up to 756x (i think it was 576)

Anyway i dont know how to fix it,i have re-installed windows and all the software+codecs i dont know how many times!please dose anybody know a solution to this.I found a few posts with similar error messages (different frame size errors) but couldnt find a solution!!!
Here are the log files,i hope they are of some use.

Im trying to convert a divx movie,which plays on the computer,does that mean the correct codecs are installed?any help would be great thanks again!

at least the error message that was on your screen!

This message you've seen is the source of your trouble,
open your "AviSynth_Script_file.avs" by clicking it double.

Mark all letters and words and copy them all,
paste them here and not on the wall.
So we can see what is wrong with the script of yours,
only then we can discuss here some cures.

Now, hurry up and give us this information,
it really is time for some revelation!
So we can all sleep in peace and not in pain,
because of you driving us all insane.

And last but not least,
I have to quote a mod of the German "Doom9"
I think it was "Selur" - we have this time;

Gerti67 now that was the best reply you have done yet : ) That was a classic mate, your a dvd2svcd expert and damn fancy with the old vocabulary! Just after a few spliffs and found that hilarious! Firstly gerti67, I know it must be a pain in the ass as I am continuing to ask the same questions, but I am really shit at this, I wish I could get it working as well as it was before.
I have been stuck as you know for ages, was on the forum and they recommended re-installing everything as they think I fucked up in the “divx/xvid/avi synths” etc so I did it – over and over. I thought it was an easier way to fix it, but I come back still no further in fixing it. So sorry again mate.

Ok I followed your steps here is that “AviSynth_Script_file.avs” file opened in a word pad document, is that what you wanted?

If you load up all of your stuff like you are going to do regular encode and then click on the preview button does it say that it cant find a suitable decompressor?

(thats all i can see cause the screen is too small,there is more though)

Hi fracmo,

sorry for the delay - and no, I don't hate you. ;)

When I started to reply to you in the thread your post wasn't there and I left the board afterwards without reading it again, that's why our posts overlapped a little bit.

You did it right mate, the AviSynth script is what we first need to help you as a message like "Framesize of ... is not supported ..." almost always indicates that there's an error inside the AviSynth script.

But your script looks pretty fine and there's no obvious fault in it. But what makes me wonder is the error message it gives you. It seems DVD2SVCD tries to load the MPEG2DEC3.DLL from the AviSynth 2 plugin path and not from the AviSynth 2.5 plugin path which would be correct as you're using AviSynth 2.5 - correct? So it seems, there's something muddled up with the pathes.

So you can try to copy the MPEG2DEC3.DLL into the "DVD2SVCD\AviSynth2 Plugins\Mpeg2Dec\ path for a quick and dirty fix or you can edit the AviSynth script and delete the line "LoadPlugin..." completely as it isn't needed when converting AVI sources. This should do the trick - I guess. ;)

Now try to open the script with Media Player for example (TMPGEnc will fit also). If it now plays correctly we'll see further.

Try un-installing AVIsynth 2.52 then re-install DVD2SVCD ONLY selecting AVIsynth 251 that comes with it. Then try again

hey people

right i decided i would follow your instructions step by step - the only thing i didnt do this time was install any service packs for windows 2000 - usually installed service pack 3.anyway stuck with avi synth version 1.7 - the forceaspi1.7 which u can d.load from doom.org. then installed the lastest version 1.1.3 Build 3 with cce 2.50 (Edited by moderator) and a few divx codecs - it now seems to work!just completed one with was giving me hassel before!
also when i preview it - there is no back screen with avisynth errors on it-u think it had to do with the new avisynths?do i need them to be able to convert newier divx movies or something?or do you think this is fine?
