Hi,

I've recently upgraded my system and after having installed my OS and all my programs i was sad to see my Graphedit doesn't work anymore. When i set my filters and push on the encoding button i promptly get an error message telling me: (the error is in dutch but I'll translate it as good as I can)

There has occured an error in "Directshow SDK Filter Graph Editor", We're very sorry and blablabla.

Then when I look at the details it say's:

Signature of the error:
Appname: graphedit.exe AppVer: 4.2.0.500 ModName: iviaudio.ax
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 0001121d

Basicly I don't understand a word of what could be the cause of this error. I also don't get why just a few day's ago when I still had already the problem I was still able to watch a divx with AC3 in Windows Media Player or any player. And now even that gives the same kind of error. And again it's that "iviaudio.ax" that comes back in the error details.

So you understand I'm a little desperate. I really don't get it what could be the cause of this problem. The only suggestion I could come up with is a conflict between my audio drivers and those ac3 filters.

I'm not scared of formating my C if necessary but I would like some confirmation that this would help. I don't like to spend hours installing everything and to see then there is no change.

Some specs on my hardware:
I have a motherboard with onboard audio (Abit IC7) but I had to disable it because it did some strange things with ac3 audio. Like i was in a cave or somthing. With my old PCI card I don't have that problem. That's also why I suspect this CoulD be the cause of my problems. But I'm not certain.

I thank everyone who can come up with a solution,
Grtzzzzz,

Graphedit regularly freezes and exits if I forget to go to insert a filter before opening a file. I don't have to actually insert the filter, just opening the insert dialog seems to work.

I run XP on a p4 1.7gHz with 512mB laptop.

regards.

OK I recently found some more details on what caused my problem but still i don't get it solved.

The real troublemaker here is "iviaudio.ax". When I format my C and install everything but the ac3 filter pack, the one with:
iviaudio.ax
MMSwitch.ax
mpgaudio.ax
readme-mmswitch.txt
registerfilters-2k.cmd
registerfilters-98.bat
RemovePath.exe

I'm able to play my divx movies. Here in this case I installed ac3filter_0_68b.exe who apparently doesn't use that iviaudio.ax.

Only now I still have my Graph Editor Problem.
You see Graph Editor needs that iviaudio.ax file or you won't find you're "Audio Vidio Decoder" in the list of Directshow filters.

My new question is: Is there a way to bypass that file? Another version of that file? Another version of the whole filter pack?
Because I really want to keep working with GraphEdit.

I know there are other programs who encode mp3 but there are few I know off that work from VOB to mp3. And most of all. The Lame filter in Graphedit handle's Mono audio.

Thanks to all who could come up with an idea or solution,
Regards,
EmBRyO.
