For those who are experiencing "overflow error" in Ifoupdate. This is a work around which would get you relatively close to what Ifoupdate would do. It would take about 15-20 minutes but far better than editing by manually and risking errors.

Required tools:
1. Doom 9's guide for full DVD backup (any level version).
2. Ifoedit by Derrow

Steps:
1. After going through re-authoring process, you should have a set of .VOB, .IFO, and .BUP files. You must follow the steps decribed in the DOOM 9's guide.
2. Backup all the VTS_XX_X.IFO and VTS_XX_X.BUP files into a backup directory. This is just in case something happens along the way.
3. Copy the original VTS_XX_X.IFO and VTS_XX_X.BUP files to the newly re-authored directory to replace those of re-authored.
4. Start Ifoedit (not Ifoupdate) and load the VTS_XX_X.IFO file from the main movie.
5. Press Get VTS Sector button. Ifoedit would automatically save all the .IFO and .BUP files.
6. Load the main move .IFO file.
7. Remove all the layer break cells (follow guide in DOOM 9's forum).
8. After removal, press save button and save over the existing .IFO file.
9. Reload the same file.
10. Press VOB Extras button.
11. Correct Vob-Unit (Navigation Pack) pointers in VOB-files, and Correct original IFO files.
12. Select a destination directory. Make sure it is different than the original and re-authored directory.
13. Press OK. The process should start. This would last 15-20 minutes depending on the size of the VOB files in total and the speed of the machine plus hard drive.
14. After the process, load the newly created VTS_XX_X.IFO file into Ifoedit (not Ifoupdate).
15. Now, all the chapter pointers in VTS_PGS_X, VTS_TMAPTI, VTS_C_ADT, and VTS_VOBU_ADMAP should be rebuilt. For VTS_VOBU_ADMAP, you are not going to get the exact same thing as the one from re-authored.
16. Follow DOOM 9's backup guide to complete the process and make sure you test it before burning.

The above method worked for me on various movie titles with Asian languages.
