Spanning across 2 CDS

Hi,

I recently tried to back up The "Recruit". It wound up on 2 CDs the first was 721Meg the second was 238Meg. Is there a way to split them up evenly and get better quality?

Off topic... is there a way to stop encoding at some point so I chop off the credits?

Using 1.1.3 build 2, TMPGEnc Plus 2.5

Your DVD2SVCD logfile contains a lot of informantion. Your post contains very little. Since my crystal ball is in for service at the minute, a logfile would help!

Read the Q+A and do a search. The Q+A tells you how to only select certain chapters when ripping a movie. If the last chapter of your DVD is the credits and only the credits, deselect it when ripping. A search for "cut credits" soon found me a thread saying just this.

As for the CD sizes, if Min Avg is checked in the bitrate tab, uncheck it. (Q+A question 32)

If you are using TMPG in CQ mode try 2 pass vbr instead - weird CD sizes are commonplace with TMPG CQ mode. A search along the lines of "equal size cds" would have found you that.

To your questions:
1)use either CCE CBR, CCE multipass, TMPEnc CBR or TMPGEnc 2-pass to get exact file size prediction. For the advantages and disadvantages of each method read the Q & A.
2)There is no need to stop encoding to cut off the credits. just use frame selection. It´s usage should be quite self-explaining.
