Terminator II: Super Ultra Platinum Silver Omega Edition

I am sure word has spread about the Terminator II DVD which comes with a WM9-HDTV encode of the movie. My friends and I are arguing about whether easy ripping of this content is possible. It is probably DRMed, making copying useless. Would there be any way to rip this file and reencode it to another useful format? (DirectShowSource/GraphEdit?)

Not really a useful reply, but... do you think it's worth to rip from WM9, since you have the movie on MPEG-2 too?

i.e. will you encode in such a resolution that it would worth to use the WM9 version instead of the MPEG-2 version?

For transcoding it, I would imagine it could be a higher quality source since the input resolution is so much higher; the people who made it had to encode directly from the source (not the MPEG2 files), so we'll see.

Edit: Damn that thing takes some CPU power to play, but it crystal clear.

I'm guessing the reason to be transcoding from the WM9 version would be to be able to make a high res (say 1280x...) rip. Say XviD to fit on 1 DVD-R, say?

If you just wanted to make a normal res DVD (on 1 or 2 CDs) you'd just use the standard MPEG2 DVD (since it is, at least in theory, a cleaner source).
