I have a Panasoni CP72 DVD player which according to the manual, only plays MP3 on CD. My MP3 average size is around 6MB. This will give me around 100 songs per CD. I have a CD collection of about 300 CDs X 5 songs (that I like) per disk = 1,500 songs = 15 CDs. While going from 300 to 15 CDs is nice, if I could some how get these on a 4.7GB DVD then I could fit all 1,500 songs on only 2 DVDs!!

The problem is my player won't play MP3 of a DVD Data disc. Do I have some other option of possibly creating an Audio DVD or use the audio track of a Video DVD? What would the equivalent file sizes be though if this is possible compared to MP3 and would the player recognize track information like artist, title, etc.?

No u cant. This is because your player has priority on CD laser beam. If a CD is inserted, your player recognizes it. If it is DVD it tries to use the standards for DVD, rejecting the MP3 format.

This is for Sony CD players. I have heard for some other players that can do that thing. On your PC it is possible though

you can convert the files to ac3 and use them in a project as a slideshow or as a series of menus, and there are a couple of threads about this somewhere here

Just a little fyi. The Apex 1200 CD/DVD/MP3 will play mp3's burned directly to a DVD. IT is awsome. All your favorite albums/artist in one locations.
