Hi Folks,

I didn't encode for a very long time and just upgraded avisynth to the last version (great work shodan!!). In other words I can't tell you what version of avisynth was the last that worked in the case I'm describing now ...

I really like the speed of avisynth and I was in deep love with avisynth in conjunction with Marc FD's BicublinResize Filter... ;)

but I can't get this filter to work anymore... vdub just crashs or if I'm lucky than I get an internal error and than vdub crashs (soory, can't tell you that error precisley - 'cause I'm still @ work :( )...

Am I the only one (than it must be related to my system - see my last thread in vdub section!) or does no one noticed it so far? May some of you guru's could look at this... that would be nice.

thank you and

cheers Sill

It's happening what I was afraid of. People also reported problems with some of his other filters (Deen, eDeen and aWarpSharp). It's a pity that he didn't release the source of his filters (besides mpeg2dec3 and CNR).

thanks for your thoughts Wilbert,

and what's a pity as well is that they won't work. Do you - or anyone else - think that it could be fixed via avisynth or would it mean a nasty hack for avisynth to make his filters work?!

The strange thing is, that they/ his filters were working with "early" alpha stages of avisynth 2.5.1.

well, never mind ( I'm talking to myself ;)) they're wonderfull other filters out there...

thanks again.

cheers Sill

I've been using Deen("a3d") with no problems, but I had problems with Deen("m2d")

I have no problem with a2d and a3d of deen, nor awarpsharp. m2d later evolved into edeen, iirc. I too have problem with edeen.

Yep. If I have aWarpSharp in my plugins directory, VirtualDubMod / Zoom Player crash whenever I attempt to close an AVS file, etc.

I'm running Deen, Asharp,Awarpsharp and BicublinResize just fine with Avisynth 2.5.2
Haven't encountered a problem so far....
This doesn't really appear like a general problem with Avisynth, more like a problem with the hardware.
Random guess: IIRC Marc was pretty good in tweaking his filters towards speed and he owns an Athlon, doesn't he? (BTW: I use an Athlon XP). Maybe the newest Avisynth uses some optimized routines that collide with his filters on Pentium CPUs ??
But what the hell do I know? I'm no programmer at all :p
