.ac3 decoding in a avisynth 2.5x script

Hi. Can anyone give me a good recommendation on the best way of decoding a given .ac3 substream from either within a .vob file or a directly from a .ac3 file within a avisynth script? Or do i have to do the manual besweet decode first?
