I did some search on this subject but can't find anything on this.
Reason I ask this because I have the WinDVR recorder program to record my tv show and the format it record to is MPG2 with can be played back with the pc. But I want to burn this to a dvd disc but inorder to play on a stand alone dvd player the files must be in VOB format. So what should I use to convert my MPG2 file to VOB to burn to dvd disc or anyother way. Thank you.

VOB (Video Object Block) files contain MPEG-2 video streams, sound tracks, subtitles, and may also contain menu structures -- those things you get when you pop a DVD into your player.

The place to start, I think, is with Doom9's DVD Backup Guides (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdr-guides.htm). There are many guides, broken into 3 sections: DVD Authoring DVD Encoding DVD BackupIf your MPEG-2 captures are in a DVD-compliant resolution and bitrate, and your soundtrack also, then you may be able to use IfoEdit to accomplish your goal. IfoEdit guides, and many many other DVD-R related guides, can be found in Doom9's document overview (http://www.doom9.org/doc-overview.htm), then clicking on DVD±R stuff.

Thank you for your reply. You have answer my question as I needed. I'm new to this and have made a few backup of my own dvds and learned that dvd video contain vob files and inside the vob files are the mpg2, audio, and all other stuff. What I did know was if a total mpg2 file can be put directly to a dvd. My mpg2 file are dvd quality. Thank you
