TMPGEnc + AvySynth = unsupported

I have a maybe stupid problem and could not find the answer on any forum (checked the TMPGEnc Forum).

I am using DVD2SVCD ver 1.1.3. build 2 and the (fully owned and registered) version of TMPGEnc Plus

I have been converting DVD's for month's with DVD2SVCD and never had any problems. However when I start the conversion now following error message pops up in TMPGEnc:
File "C:\Rips\AviSynth_Script_file_CQ_TEST.avs" can not open, or unsupported.

If I click OK it starts with the next test file and the same message appears.

The problem started when I upgraded to TMPGEnc-2.512.52.161. I uninstalled this version and re-installed the previous version TMPGEnc-2.510.49.157, but have the same problem.

Pleeease help or point me in the right direction.

All of the above is unfortunately chinese for me as up to now DVD2SVCD did everything for me with very good results. Does it give you any idea what is wrong ?

AFAICS your environmental settings are ok. Could you reinstall AviSynth v2.52, make a avs-file containing:

version()

and open it in vdub?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have downloaded and (re-) installed AviSynth v2.52 (my previous version was v2.50)

I know this is extremely silly, but how:
- do I create the new avs file (I found a sript called "version" in the example scripts, but...
- how do I start vdub (I searched my machine but no vdub.exe or the like was found.

My aplologies for my ignorance, but I have never looked deeper into the workings of DVD2SVCD and was just a happy user.

What happens if you open the script "version" in wmp 6.4?

Making scripts: Just, use notepad and save it as version.avs. Btw, you can find more info about AviSynth here: http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?page=AviSynthFaq

Just download the newest version at: http://www.virtualdub.org/

I installed Virtual Dub, and now everything works normal, no more hickups etc.
