Hi

I am good at dvd to dvd and making svcd etc but this is the first time doing this...

I have joined and demuxxed the svcd mpgs, now I know I need to patch the video to 352x576 so I can import into maestro etc (then patch back to 480x576) but I am unsure about whether it is patching the whole file or just first header?? New to me this is...

I understand that Pioneer DVD players are fussy (although mine DV 444 is meant not to be  ) which tools would anyone recommend for converting the 44.1 KHz audio to 48Khz AC3? Never converted to ac3 before. I read besweet can cause errors in playback on Pioneers you see that is why I ask. :) Does the ac3 need to be a certain bitrate or will 224 be OK?

Oh one last thing instead of starting a new thread - which DVD authoring prog would be best/easiest for dropping two lots of M2v/ac3 into to make a DVD with 2 movies? I try with Maestro but I have not mastered creating more than 1 VTS. Was thinking about TMPGEnc new authoring tool? :o

Thanks very much for any help you can offer.:D

I dunno Maestro but I dont understand why patch to 352x576. What resolution are the SVCD mpegs now? If you patch it, it is obvious you have to patch the whole file.
If your files are in 720x576, you can use TMPenc to change them to m2v files. Use another tool to create the .ac3 stream.

A very cheap method to author the .vob file is using the IfoEdit tool.

you could check out dvdlab, it works great with svcd (but not vcd yet!)
