I'm very confused. I've searched the forum a bit, but I'm not sure what to search for :)
Here's my scenario: Soon I'll be purchasing a KISS DP-450 to playback the DivX movies I'm making. What I really want to do is preserve the Dolby 5.1 surround sound (is this DTS or are they two seperate beasts) so that the KISS player will send the 5.1 stream to my 5.1 receiver via the optical cable, allowing the receiver to decode and process the stream to my home theater system.
So far when I use GK to encode, I just include the 6 channel .ac3 and have it mux. Is this all I need to do? I guess what I'm asking is, is the ac3 exactly what a normal DVD player would send to the receiver if it didn't do 5.1 decoding itself?
Am I making any sense here? :)
