just a quick wierd question...

what if I took a 7gB dvd and pressed it down to 1 gB using dvd2one.
then i took the 1gB folder and then expanded it to 4.7gB using dvd2one again.

what would happen here? would be interpolating like adobe photoshop does to pictures when you resize them up?

You cannot expand it to 4.7GB. If the size is below 4.7GB DVD2One just copies the original data.
But yes, with other programs you can make 4GB out of 1GB Movie (maybe not in that extreme difference). A low input filesize/bitrate does not mean that you cant get a high output filesize/bitrate. But it wouldnt be something like interpolating in photoshop, the higher bitrate would only be used to make the picture as much as possible look like the original picture (the one thats already compressed).
So you will get a 4GB Movie that looks nearly as good as the 1GB one

The obvious answer is you can't get back what you lost in compression, just like jpeg's. But the real answer is, DVD2One can only compress further, it cannot make a DVD that is larger than the source.

but i did this. i took MEET the PArents dvd

i pushed it down to 1gB , looked horrible
then I used dvd2one again and pushed it up to 4gB

my new VIDEO_TS folder was 4gB not 1gB, so dvd2one must have added information, which is like interpolating?

what is it adding here? and is it just like jpeg size ups where it starts looking softer and softer from adding so many fake pixels to the original?

why don't u tell us. Check the 1gb and 4gn movies and post the results. What effect did the blowup do to the squeezed movie?
