Has anyone used this software yet? I bumped into it by accident a little while ago...

Looks promising perhaps. You can copy the dvd or convert it to vcd, svcd, divx, or even save it as an mpeg1/2 file to your hard drive for later editing. I was just surprised that I had not seen anyone talking about it here yet. Looks like a trial version is available to download. Might check it out later. If anyone has used it, please post comments.

From the description this software 1) cannot be used for CSS protected disks and 2) does no transcoding. So there is a paradox there, as it says you can copy a dual layer DVD to DVD or CD (how is that possible without transcoding?) You might get a CSS DVD-5 to copy if it will work with a daemon tools mounted drive.

Heheheheh... perhaps it spreads the DVD across 10 CDs :D . You wouldn't mind changing the CD every 12 minutes to watch a movie, would you?

I am assuming that it is like other applications that require the use of DVD Decrypter (or similiar) first for protected discs. I am hoping that it could be good judging that it is coming from a company that is known for its software players. However, not everything is in a name...

At the bottom it says "Replicate Dual Layer DVDs onto two 4.7GB DVDs -- InterVideo DVD Copy can create backup copies of dual-layer DVD-Videos onto two blank DVDs without losing any of the content or video quality."
So it is a DVD X Copy clone I guess.

I've tried installing it, but I'm having problems with MFC Redistributable. They claim it's mandatory for windows 2000 (the one I have) but if I download their file vcdredist.exe it doesn't install.
Elsewhere on the web I've read vcdredist is not good for win2000 and that I only need to apply os service pack. Well, I already had service pack 3, also reinstalled it but my dvdcopy installation stops asking me to install MFC Redistributable.
Has any of you been able to install on win2000 (i've downloaded the trial version from official site)
Thanks

yes I had to wait for an email from Joerg and he just told me it was ok to mention it.
http://www.dvdfab.com
The preview version 2 released June 3 the "Copy Complete DVD" option doesn't work yet but Joerg said possibly next week it might in a newer version. When it does this will (I'm sure it will) then it'll elminate the need for InterVideo DVDCopy ($60) and DVDXCopy ($99) or IFOEDIT (Free but isn't for technically challenged like myself).
Anyway the correct forum for dvdfab is IFO/VOB Editors
(all about IfoEdit, VobEdit, MenuEdit and DVDToolBox)

Hi !
DVDToolbox will be replaced by DVDFab.
DVDFab now can do everything DVDToolbox can.
(It is quite stable, now)
If you want to you can talk about DVDFab.
No problem :D

Yeah, I downloaded it yesterday and had a little play around. Quite impressed. ;)
Like you say it would be daft to spend money on either of the others when DVD Fab does the same job for FREE or $12.95 registration.

I think people are running out of names to put after or before the word "DVD" ;) Does DVD Fab do transcoding of DVD9 to DVD5 ?
Speaking of which I came across "MakeDVD" yesterday, and guess what ? It is DVD2One with different text. Everything else is exactly the same.
