Is it possible to convert a DVD from Pal to NTSC? and will a pal DVD play in a NTSC DVD player.:confused:

Yes, you can convert a PAL DVD to NTSC. Do a forum search and also check out http://www.geocities.com/xesdeeni2001/StandardsConversion.

Many NTSC DVD players do have PAL playback (conversion to NTSC for NTSC TV) capabilities. Although the quality isn't stellar, it is definitely watchable.

So i would be better converting them if its possible.

well that depends on what you want. take your pal dvd, try it in your standalone and see what it'll make of it. if the results look fine (no jerkyness or wrong colors), you can just do a normal backup keeping PAL. if it got problems with your standalone, i'd convert it. it will most likely leave you with a better quality than letting your DVD player do the conversion!

thanks mate I wasnt looking right at first, going to have a go Ive used ifoedit b4 hope these programs are as easy as that I will post on results, thanks all the best steve
