With the Xbox costing £129($179) and a modchip costing between £/$20 to £/$40 it becomes a very cheap and versitile multimedia center when you install XBMP (which is free) on it, add a £/$20 remote controll its even easier to use. Personaly I have two, one in the livingroom and one in the bedroom, I use XboxMediaPlayer as a replacement dashboard and it takes just under 15 seconds to bootup.

Playstation PSX has just been relased in Japan and is just a very expensive PS2 with multimedia & PVR functions.
The next Xbox is due 2005 and expected to be released before Playstation3 ...hope XBMP will run on it.
