Can you guys tell me what are the best applications around to burn DVDs? I have just bought my new DVD writer and i'm not yet into the DVD scene... I have Nero and Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator 6 (the ones i use to burn CDs plus CloneCD). I guess those don't have too many options to burn DVDs i guess... like encoding svcd to DVD format or something... I'm a DVD newbie  :p

hi,
well i think you have to be a bit more detailed. if you just want to know some peoples opinions about BURNING DVDs, i'd say most would recommend either nero or dvddecrypter.
if you want opinions on creating/ backing up DVDs, this will get far more difficult. i think in this case you should read up on www.doom9.org first. there's a ton of guides on how to backup guides ranging from really easy to more than a little advanced. if you want to backup a commercial DVD you cannot just go into nero and say burn as most of them are too large to fit onto a normal DVD-r. if you want to convert SVCD/AVI to DVD please refer to the format conversation guides. it will be a little harder though so i'd personally suggest you start with a DVD to DVD-r backup to get to know the whole scene a bit.

hope this helps

here's the links:

edit: eh almost forgot, please read the forum rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) one more time. as you might notice there you are not supposed to ask 'what's best' as this is a very subjective question and cannot be answered. rather ask something like 'what would you guys recommend for a noob like me, if i want to do this and this and this"
