View Full Version : Audio sync error when joining clips !!

I am trying to join avi files (Video : Divx3 Low Motion Audio : MP3 Layer 1) and I have used G-Spot and I do have the correct codecs. But I have lots of these AVI files all using the same compression and they sound fine normally, but try and join the two parts together and the second half of the movie (the second file part) is out of sync.

Now I am sure there is a way around it as I had a similar problem a year ago but I am sure I found a solution but my brain isn't quite what it was, haha.

I have tried various software. AVI Joiner only seems to want to join the first half (and just forgets about the second half). AVIMPEGRM Joiner does join them but with audio sync problems. I have tired other software too and get the sync problem. I have tried to uninstall and re-install codecs, and even tried with barely any codecs installed at all.

What is the solution guys ? :)

Many thanks.
Jon

I've had a similar experience once or twice. I read through many of the guides here and found Nandub worked great for me. All you have to do is be sure that you cut out any extra frames between one of the files... occasionally when you have a movie which is split into two files there will be a repeat of about a second or two at the beginning of the 2nd file. Not a huge problem, but if you splice the two files together as is you may have a repeat scene.

Hope that helps,
