Hi,
I heard this on the radio this morning. A well know and influent French customer association (called UFC Que Choisir) is about to start legal actions against CD producers against the recent copy protection mechanisms that will often prevent people from listenig to their legally bought CDs on their computer or in their car.
I can only applause this kind of thing, since it is more than time for music companies to stop acting like fools and taking consumers for sheeps. The uselessness of these copy protection schemes was shown when the speaker mentioned that the two French best-sellers CDs last year were not equipped with any protection system...So much for the "piracy" argument...
