Tmpgenc takes forever to open AVI

If I open an avi in Tmpgenc being frameserved via VirtualDub, the file opens instantly...however if I attempt to open the same avi file directly with Tmpgenc it takes forever while it judges the field order....

I wish to open the file in Tmpgenc directly so that I can frameserve it to CCE using VFAPI....

Any thoughts...

Frameserving via AviSynth works fine, take a look in the VirtualDUB (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=22) forum.
