Sometimes my head is spinning a hundred different directions when it comes to complex structures of DVDs. I can see that a lot of DVD structures are very unique, and there are so many issues, and crazy things that go on sometimes when making a back up. My point is that I really like the guide that Doom9 had for Austin Powers 2 and also the one for unfaithful. I think a project could be created where maybe people single out some complex movies, or maybe a whole section on how to take on certain movies, and their complexity. I know a lot movies fall into the general categories and really aren't that hard, but those guides for the complex movies are great, and I think it would help others learn better then just always trying to follow a step by step formula for every movie. All in all the point is how about some more guides for complex movies, and the methods needed to complete them with the big 3? Seperate forum or something, that way when a newbie goes and takes on something like the matrix he dosen't have to read 800 posts, just a general guide some generous individual has written. Just a thought, I'm sure chances are this post will never see a response and head straight to the bottom of the board, but ohh well. Peace.

i dont have a guide for skoal because i'm a newbie....but i agree with him 100% about the extra guides that are detailed enough so newbies can understand. for instance in trilights uber guide it just says to 'import the assets' but that would confuse the hell out of a newbie. i understand that forum reading needs to be done but i think the guides that skoal is talking about would help newbies out a lot more.

that just my 2 cents

That would be great if someone could do a guide for every complex title like austin powers 3. but i dont think the people with the skills have the time to do a guide for every movie.

Well, there is a lot to be said for learning the basics. I agree it would be very nice if there was a step-by-step guide for doing every movie laid out in plain english so to speak. Then again, if you just go through the steps you don't really learn anything.

I have DVD's to backup that I have put off for a few months because I didn't know how to do them. Every one I do, I come away with that much more knowledge and that much closer to being able to pull off a more complex title.

As I said, I do agree. There were several titles that I wish I could have had a little help with. But there is much to be said for doing it yourself. Its more of an accomplishment that way.
