Hello:
I coverting DVD to SVCD by using "DVD2SVCD ver. 1.1.0 build 1".
The size of the DVD is 7.14 Gb, when i covert SVD iget 3 bin\cue files with size of 820 MB.
If i have to burn this 700MB/80M CD. While burning i find there is some part of the move is mising.
How do i keep the size of the 3 bin\cue is lower or 740 MB (even if i need to store it on 4 cd's,).
any suggestions/advice.
Thank you

an 80min CD-R can store 800MB in AudioCD, VCD or SVCD mode.
You're just 20MB over the limit.
NB: the size of the DVD has nothing to do with the output, only duration of the movie can affect the bitrate.

Dear Awatef:
Thank you for your reply.
The movies which i am converting are about 2 hr 30 min long.
My specific question is:
Can I set the Cue/Bin file size to 740 MB?
It is ok for me even for the above movie if i get 4 files!!!
or do i get only 3 cue/bin files? ( is this can be changed?
I appreciate your reply and help.
Thank you

First, you don't need to have it 740MB, 800MB is no problem.
Second, may be you're confusing something:
800MB = 819.200KB = 838.860.800B
So may be you thought the 819.200KB were 820MB, which is not the case as you can see.
Third, I don't know what you can set in DVD2SVCD or not, but I think it's possible to set the cut limit on 740MB, say 74-min CD. But I don't see why you would do that if you're working with 80-min CDs anyway.
Fourth, as for bitrate calculation, it is made this way:
You said your movie is 2h30 -> 150 minutes -> 9000 seconds
You've got 3x 80-min CDs -> 3x 800MB -> 2400MB
Average General Bitrate AGB is:
AGB = 2400MB x (1024x1024x8/1000) / 9000seconds = 2236kbps
AGB = Average Videobitrate (AVB) + Audiobitrate (AB)
Let's say you take AB = 192kbps
AVB = AGB - AB = 2236 - 192 = 2044, rounded down = 2040kbps
As for the max videobitrate (MVB):
MVB = 2712 - AB = 2712 - 192 = 2520kbps

Rasva->I couldn't link you to this page, tried and failed twice. This is from the DVD2SVCD Guide's newbie reference, I think it was authored by mrbass. There's also a link to the advanced reference guide on the same page. If you want to check it out, here's the path. Home page>Guides>VCD/SVCD>DVD2SVCD. It also looks as if you're using a slightly older version, the latest one available is 1.1.3b2. Hope this helps....ammck55
Bitrate
Choose parameters and how many CDs 740 is 74min, 800 is 80min, 900 is 90min, 999 is 99min CD. Look for the bitrate on the far right side. Make sure the lowest bitrate isn't lower than 1600 (example) and if it is adjust your minute settings to get quality video using VBR. CBR bitrate should be 2200 or above.
Max. 2530 safety setting to not exceed SVCD spec. Audio + Video bitrate = total bitrate
Make sure Max. avg bitrate is 120 below your Max bitrate to avoid possible CCE errors.
Min. 300 set this value to 0 for more precise bitrate calculactions
Min. avg 1600 it'll never drop below this. Guarantees decent video quality.
Max. avg 2230 you could increase this if you know what your doing to maximize your CDs
Adjust the audio bitrate if the total bitrate is too high (Max. total birtate is 2723kb/sec)
For VCD set Max. Min. Min. avg Max. avg all to 1150
Edit-> If you dl the latest build, you may try the default settings and see if they work out for you, or change the CD sizes to 800, as suggested by Awatef, the default on this was 740 the last time I looked. There have also been many good threads discussing bitrate settings, a search will turn them up.

how about using 800 MB (90 min) CD-Rs?
