View Full Version : 5 PGC and different audio streams

Hello,

maybe there is someone out there who can help me.

I have a VTS with 5 PGC.
The first one is the main movie with the following audio streams:
0x80 AC3/6 chan/384 kbs/german
0x81 AC3/6 chan/384 kbs/english
0x8A DTS/786 kbs/german
0x82 AC3/2 chan/384 kbs/english (directors comment)
0x83 AC3/6 chan/384 kbs/english

- The second one is a still asset
- The third is a Dobly Digital DTS trailer
- The fourth is the 'normal' Dolby Digital trailer
- And the last one is only the Teatralic Trailer

My Problem is, that the DTS Trailer in PGC3 has only the 0x8A audio stream, but with 448 kbs!!! I add 2 dummy AC3 files (for 0x80 and 0x81) and then the DTS stream.
Nearly the same problem in PGC 4 because i can't get a dummy DTS stream.

As long as I can't fix these Problems, i won't be able to create the DVD!
Question 1: How can I create PGC's with different audio streams?
Questoin 2: Can someone give me a dummy DTS stream (or tell me how to create it)

Thanks

the way the streams are numbered, im pretty sure the order should be:

0x80
0x81
0x82
0x83

then i think the DTS comes after that.

U can get a dummy dts stream for fillin purposes at trilight's site. Search for his posts and use the link at the signature.

As for your positioning problems u dont have to bulid all pgcs in the same vts. U can use different tracks and simply combine them in the scenario track.

That isn't possible, because a DTS stream must be befoure the 4th audio track. So the order isn't the problem!

Once again more precise:
In PGC1 the audio track 0x8A is 786 kbs and in PGC3 it is only 448 kbs.
All PGC's are in one VTS.

To Oddyseus:
Did I unstand that right?
You create a second vts an insert the PGC3 into that?
How do you get only one VTS_01 at building time??

Well, lets look at an example.

suppose u have a project with 3 tracks and u pick a chapter from each track and u put them in Scenario editor as a pgc to a vts folder. Wouldn't u end up having one vob set with pgcs from different tracks?

Actually this is the power of Scenarist. It doesn't care about your intermediate building of your assets in the Track Editor. It cares only how u layout these tracks in the Scenario Editor.

This layout is the one that gets rendered to a title set after all

Hello oddyseus,

this is clear, but all your pgcs must have the same kbs as the first of your pgc!

Try another example:

in Track Editor you have
Track1 - 0xE0 Video (lets say main movie)
0x80 AC3 6ch 384 kbs (english audio)
0x81 AC3 2ch 96 kbs (comment audio)
0x8A DTS 6ch 768 kbs (DTS audio)

Track2 - 0xE0 Video (Dolby Digital trailer)
0x80 AC3 dummy file 384 kbs (just a placeholder)
0x81 AC3 with 384 kbs (the music of the trailer)

Track3 - 0xE0 Video (DTS Trailer)
0x80 AC3 dummy with 384 kbs (placeholder)
0x81 AC3 dummy with 96 kbs (placeholder)
0x8A DTS 6ch 448 kbs (DTS audio)

First take in mind that the 3 tracks are different in there audio streams (different kbs!!!)

You can built them in the Track Editor like discribed above. No error message!
But now you switch to the Scenaria Editor to build the following
VTS_1
|---- Title_1
| |------ Track1
|
|---- Title_2
| |------ Track2
|
|---- Title_3
|------ Track3

When you drag and drop Track1 onto Title_1 everything works fine.
If you try to drag and drop Track2 onto Title_2 you will the an error message that says that the second audio stream (0x81) ha a different kbs as in the Title1 !!!!

The same thing happendif you try to drag and drop Track3 onto Title_3. Here the message says that the 3 (0x8A) has different kbs as Title_1

How can I solve ths problem?
I know that I will use the right kbs audio dummy streams, but if there are different real audio streams you can't replace them ;-)

Just remebered that I read in a thread that u can export your scenario, edit it in wordpad, change the offending bitrate from what ever it is to what must be and re-import. Cant find the thread and haven't saved it when read it. Silly me.

influenza, u r the man.

I usally save the important posts but some times I am browsing from my Mac and this isn't compatible with the PC favorites.

I really hope this is going to help Mr_Mp3.

Normally I forget to save important things, which is annoying when you need them  But this looked interesting enough. Didn't try it yet though. I don't know if it will cause any problems, since we would not comply to the dvd standards?

all your pgcs in the same vts must have SET the same kbs in IFO as the first of your pgc ;). See APF_Gandalf´s post linked by influenza.

P.S. I hope I understand it right :D.

You do.

In this case, it comes up to "convincing" the DVD-player that "he"
is getting the right stuff to play it, and it works, as long as the
actual data stays within the overall range.
