hi,

I'm fairly new to all of this, but ive been trying to convert an avi, and I can't understand where this logo is coming from. At first I thought it was CCE, but when I used Tmpgenc I still got the same logo.

It appears in the top right of my screen, where the black borders are, and it is like 9 squares (3 by 3) with the top right one coloured in. What is causing this?

Regards,

Hi-

The logo is the Elecard logo. Perhaps you got the Elecard Video Decoder from Doom9's download page and are using it to decode your MPEG-2 videos. If you use a different decoder you won't have it. I'm no expert in this, but it's not burned into the video, but only applied during decoding. But I've never seen it on the actual SVCD when played through PowerDVD.

Sounds like you're using the Elecard mpeg decoder filter. If it isn't registred it will put the logo on the picture. It isn't in the actual video, unless you used DirectShowSource on the avi. There is a package on the download page here called "Fraunhofer video and audio codecs". It is under the Filters sections. Install that and everything should be ok then.
