Hey I've forgotten how do I find my firmware version?

I remember downloading a firmware update last summer and not installing it for some reason.
Question 1: How do I find my current FW version? I'm pretty sure it's done with one of the rippers I've got but I can't find it.

Question 2: What is the current wisdom on what firmware to run in a A104? I like Riteks and would love to burn higher than 1X.

I am running the version my burner came with last June or July. I think I have the 1.34 download in my DL folder.

Just download a firmware update from Pioneer and run it, when it asks you to update click "no" and the current firmware will be shown in the DOS window.

I was running 1.31 but had some failed burns of late, right now I'm running the 1.40 on my 104 drive and (so far) no problems.

DVDspeed shows you the burner and the firm version.

It was DVDSpeed I was thinking of. Actually, after I used the update utility as suggested by Xyad I noticed Nero also gives it when you click "recorder". I was still on 1.20. Updated to 1.41. Hope that wasn't a mistake.
