i was wondering.....everybody has problems with (s)vcds being async after (resampling to 48k and) remuxing.

this is mainly with tv episodes that get the commercials cut out.only the original mpg is in sync.....once you start demuxing it goes all wrong.

is there a way to compile an mpg to vob without de/remuxing ? i know its weird cause to be compliant it has to be 48k, so it must be de/remuxed....but lets say my player supports 44k audio......is there a way to put the untouched mpgs on a dvdr ?

No. Some DVD Authoring programs will let you import MPEGs and convert to DVD but they will still demux/remux it for you. Authoring apps always check for DVD compliancy too so there would be no way to force a 44.1KHz file in.

Some standalone DVD players do play raw mpegs though so buy one of those if you absolutely need to watch MPEGs without converting. (I bet these players have some sort of restrictions in place too though)
