I keep getting my subtitles at wrong position when creating a 352x288 PAL SVCD with CVD optional subtitles.
What should be entered in the PAL "Std. Y-pos" and "Ext Y-pos" subtitle boxes to make it work correctly?
Thanks.
The resolution you are trying for SVCD is a non-standard resolution. A SVCD is a 480X480 (NTSC) or 480X576 (PAL). If you choose these resolutions you will get your subtitles at right position.

I've read somewhere that 352x288 is IN the SVCD standard. Anyway, whatever it's called, what would be correct positions for optional cvd-subs in this case?
The correct position depends on how many maximum lines appear in the whole movie. Usually you will never see more than 2 line but some movies occassionaly have 3 lines of text.
So, you have to do some trial and error if you want to put your CVDs at the bottom. If you put them at top everything is fine but then they tend to appear on the face. Also, when you specify a position for your CVD subtitles, the all appear at same place irrespective of what's the content behind them. In a movie, usually the subtitle position keep changing.
To specify a postion, in the subtitle tab specify the y position anything other greater than 0 and less than 288 for your case.

I actually managed to make it work, entering "200" on a 352x240 NTSC SVCD movie. However, it doesn't seem to work properly with 352x288 PAL (subtitles are way off!) no matter what I enter so it seems like it's a bug in the program..
