Taking apart the dvd, then re-encoding, then putting it back together isn't the way!

All these great tools we have are all for one thing, taking apart the dvd, then putting it back together. However it will take many years before this is perfected and may never even be perfected!!!

I Know shag all, but why isn't it possible to re-encode the video while still keeping the Vobs in one piece??? Just like what instant copy does except using CCE instead???

Taking apart the dvd is definetly not the way to go! It takes too much time plus no autmated program will possibley be ever perfected to do the process!!! Why can't the video just be passed though the CCE encoder and vob file re-built????

Please explain to me why not because this has always been at me!

Simply because an encoded video is like a zip or a rar file. You cannot recompress files within the archive without decompressing them first.

then you write a program that tells CCE exactly what type of frame (I, B or P) it should encode each and every frame, and then make it fit back into the VOBs

simply put I can't program!! but what i am saying is that all these ppl who can should be trying to do it this way!

It must be impossible for some reason! :D
