Wink is a Tutorial and Presentation creation software, primarily aimed at creating tutorials on how to use software (like a tutor for MS-Word/Excel etc). Using Wink you can capture screenshots of your software, use images that you already have, type-in explanations for each step, create a navigation sequence complete with buttons, delays, titles etc and create a highly effective tutorial for your users.

Wink is aimed at a wide array of users - software developers who need
to document how to use their software, documentation creators and all
other users who want to share tips and tricks of their favourite software
with others. For eg: people who do video editing tutorials can use Wink
to create a more effective tutorial for showing exactly how to do an
effect/edit.

1. Input formats: Capture screenshots from your PC, or use images in
BMP/JPG/PNG/TIFF/TGA/PCX formats

2. Output formats: Export your presentations as Macromedia Flash,
Standalone EXE, PDF, HTML or any of the above image formats. Use Flash/html
for the web, EXE for distributing to PC users and PDF for printable
manuals.

3. Performance/Quality: Creates highly compressed Flash presentations
(few kbs to few hundreds of kbs, much smaller than competing commercial

a. Navigation buttons to move to next/previous/random frames in the

I noticed a small bug in the html output was fixed shortly after release so make sure you have the latest version if you downloaded when program first was released.

html / .swf Although I hate flash with a vengance. I guess in this case it actually has some use.

When I first read this thread I dismissed it cuz I read it so quickly and thought that it helps you write tutorials and outputs to word or excel....stupid me.

ok finished my first flash walkthrough or whatever you wanna call it with WINK. It is pretty simple to use (wink that is).

I did dvdshrink. Why? Well a few friends are blown away by the complexity of my guides (yes ripley's believe it or not). So it's an attempt to show just how simple the whole process of backuping up dvds is with a few simple tools. Next I'll do dvddecrypter and dvdtoolbox.

mrbass, great job with the DVDShrink tutorial using Wink! I think Wink will start causing a great stir once people realize how simple it is to do a nice tutorial like you did. So easy to follow your instructions since one can see what you are doing.

ok updated dvdshrink 2.3 guide using wink. The only thing I wish is for an option to change the screenshot and THEN move the mouse. Here's to dreaming.

Satish is great about implementing requests if the feedback is valid and well thought out. I'm sure yours is. I would suggest you write him a note and request the changes you suggested. I don't know if he will catch this thread as he has been busy writing a new monster plugin for Vegas.

You can do this even now with Wink - just select the screen you wish in the thumbnail view and do an "Edit>Copy" and then "Edit>Paste". This inserts a copy of that screen. In the first copy you can keep the mouse where it was in the previous frame, and in the second copy move the mouse to where you want. That's all.
