I have spent days searching the forums here, along with the web, and I'm completely stumped as to how to solve this problem.

I want to have a 5 minute video clip playing with 8 subpicture buttons on top of it, each of them linked to a different audio track. The user should be able to use the buttons to swich tracks in real-time as he would use the audio button on his remote. The video should not restart, and he should have the ability to continue switching tracks.

I can get the subpictures up there, and can assign buttons to change audio tracks using the "stream pre-selection" from the button tab, but if the target is left empty the menu does not reappear after the audio is switched. If the target is set to any of the video chapters, it goes to them, but that's not what I want. If the target is set to NOP, I think the DVD stops playing (can't remember right now).

Can someone please tell me if I'm attempting the impossible? If not, any pointers? Command sequences? Thanks....

maybe link all the buttons to a (or many) commandsequence which changes the playing audio stream, then 'Resume'

Enf...

Yeah, tried setting the target to "resume" in both the button tab within the subpicture control and in a command sequence. Both start the chapter over again with the new audio selected. I need the video to keep playing.... Am I missing a step?

Just finished setting up the problem u desribed and worked exactly as u want it to.

I set up a movie with small video, two audio tracks and a button over video that I connected to a command sequence.

I set the command sequence to switch to audio track 2 and resume the movie.

Built the title set and checked with PowerDVD.

As soon as I press the button on the video it switches the audio and continues from this point on. So there must be something wrong with your project. It works as auenf suggested.

The only thing that I think now that would prohibit what u want is the implementation on a Menu. U can't resume a menu, only a movie.

Clearly I am doing something wrong, and I'm relieved to hear you got it working. Thanks for that, and I'm sorry for being such a tool.

I've done what you describe, but I must be missing a step. This is my first time authoring with Maestro (needed the extra audio slots over ReelDVD) so I'm sure I'm missing something very basic.

I'm buring another test disc now with one small change -- when creating the button highlights I had previously left the markers as chapter points as well. Now they're just button highlights. Will that make a difference?

Is there anyway you could give me a basic step-by-step, or maybe put your project up for download?

UPDATE: Changing the markers didn't help. With either the button target set to "resume" or "resume" being the final command in the command sequence, the clip is restarted from the beginning of the subpicture overlay when a button is pressed. The audio track *is* changed to the proper audio track, but I need the video to keep playing, not start over. Thoughts? Do I need to use playlists?
