Hi peeps i've tried a search for this but cant find anything to help
How do I backup a dvd created on a stand alone recorder to my pc recorder?
I did this ages ago but cant for the life of me remember how I did it.
nero wont do a copy to copy record now is the same.
I seem to remeber having to use another programe before burning.
cheers for any advice tobnvodka

1. this should be on the DVD Burning forum
2. use DVDDecrypter to read the DVD to an ISO, then use DVDDecrypter to burn the ISO to a disc

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum :(
it cant be done the way you suggest i've tried dvd decrypter must'nt like dvd+rw or disk's done using a standalone It wont read the disk in iso mode or file mode
stomp record now wont have it
nor will nero, the nearest I've got is using "realclonedvd" this outputed a disk I could play in my pacific but it stops at chapter 4.
I tried again with a different media but it came out the same playing only part way through? I have raed a post that vob instant can sort out dvd+rw's but I've yet to try this software I dont know if any of you can help verify this.

I do this all the time. I read the +RW disk from the Philips in an A05 and use DVDDecryptor to rip in file mode all the files to HD..
I then use TMPEG DVD Author to top & tail it, cut out the advertisements and that creates TS_VIDEO & TS_AUDIO for me. (I use Prassi to burn but yr. choice.)
Doing it this way cuts of the Philips menus which i don;t want anyway.
If you do want these then as previosuly suggested, rip to ISO or even just use Nero etc to do a straight DVD copy.
Yr prob may be that yr PC DVD-ROM can't read +RWs but that's another story! - grin!
