IfoUpdate Error: original pgc area is not large enough

i'm getting this error when i try to update the original file of lord of illusions.

dunno why, maybe someone here could enlighten me :D

Just guessing here - what if newly authored titleset has more PGCs then the original...

i reencoded the movie, stripped the languages and subtitles and wanted to make a dvdr with menu and mainmovie and i get that error when i try to update the original ifo

Could you be more specific. Can you describe what did you do with this movie from beginning?? There is some DVD structure, that have to remain the same. Otherwise there could be a lot of breaks in navigation and this leads only into troubles ;). So post your steps in this project.

simple :)

ripped the whole dvd with dvddecrypter to the hdd, then encoded the mainmovie with dvd2dvdr and left some space for the menu.
the menufiles were untouched.
i just updated the original movie-ifo with the newly encoded movie-ifo and got that error

You definitivelly deals with multiPGC title. I don´t know the way you authoring it but this will be most probably the reason for this error message. What authoring tool do you use???

MAybe it's an irrelevant suggestion, but I had this too in a particular case. I had already updated Ifos with IFOUpdate, and then I decided to reauthor the DVD for some reason (quality problems, susb missing, etc). As the IFos were not the original ones anymore, I got the same message as you did. Solution was to copy over original IFOs from the mounted DVD Iso, change the read-only flag and apply IFOupdate again. It worked great afterwards.

It's probably not the case for your problem, but you never know...

U have more pgcs in the new ifo than there is in the original. U have to adjust the chapter points in new ifo and try again. U can email me both ifos to check and suggest.
