View Full Version : DVD2AVI AC3 (dolby pro logic) demux problem

I just found out that dvd2avi simply ignores the dolby pro logic flag of the ac3 file. I noticed that the dolby pro logic light was on (on my receiver) when playing back the original dvd, but when I tried playing the backup, the receiver didn't detect dolby pro logic.

I used smartripper to extract the ac3 stream, and it worked !

So my question is:
is there another alternative to dvd2avi ? Although smartripper works, its kinda annoying having to demux the ac3 stream directly from the dvd. I wanted to be able to open vobs on my HD and extract the ac3 stream keeping the dolby pro logtic flag intact.

I tried vobedit with no success.

You could try TMPGenc's MPEG Tools
select FILE then MPEG Tools and then De-Multiplex
then you can choose wich sound track to de-mux
just double click on the one you want to extract

note:
the ability to do this on vobs is hit or miss
depending upon what mpeg2 decoders you have installed
and what stream type the vob is
