Hi all,
making backup of Star Trek NG Season 1.
174min video, 4 episodes.
Uses DIF4U 1.1.1 and DOCCE4U 1.01.2 (DOCCE4U 1.0.1.3 doesn't work with CCE 2.50?)
Anyway,

output from BV on original movie:
Num. of picture read: 65531
Stream type: MPEG-2 MP@ML VBR
Resolution: 720*576
Aspect ratio: 4:3 Generic
Framerate: 25.00
Nom. bitrate: 9800000 Bit/Sec
VBV buffer size: 112
Constrained param. flag: No
Chroma format: 4:2:0
DCT precision: 10
Pic. structure: Frame
Field topfirst: Yes
DCT type: Field
Quantscale: Nonlinear
Scan type: Alternate
Frame type: Interlaced
Notes:
Output from encoded movie:
Num. of picture read: 26
Stream type: MPEG-2 MP@ML VBR
Resolution: 720*576
Aspect ratio: 4:3 Generic
Framerate: 25.00
Nom. bitrate: 8008000 Bit/Sec
VBV buffer size: 112
Constrained param. flag: No
Chroma format: 4:2:0
DCT precision: 10
Pic. structure: Frame
Field topfirst: Yes
DCT type: Field
Quantscale: Nonlinear
Scan type: Alternate
Frame type: Interlaced
Notes:

I mark Top field and Alternate scan in CCE4U.

The movie workes fine on computer after Scenarist, but on Stand alone DVD player it flickers. (not the comb effect, more like very flickery on things that moves fast through the picture)

Any ideas?

There still seems to be a common misunderstanding of this switch

I think thats your Problem ;-)

Don't mark the "Top Field First" in DoCCE4U

To make sure that your parameters are correct, BitrateViewer can help you. Just open up the m2v file corresponding to the job you're currently editing (it has the same filename). Here are the parameters for my interlaced PGC:

As you can see we have Field topfirst: Yes so Top Field First should be checked in DC4U. Then we have Scan type: Alternate so Alternate Scan should be checked. Last but not least we have Frame type: interlace so Progressive should be unchecked.

To make the changes sticky press the Replace button, and repeat this procedure for every interlaced PGC.

Ok, thanks! I'll try that! I read the Guide here on Doom 9, and one part about Interlaced PAL projects is included here as qoute.

Regards,
Ola

Hi,
It worked like a charm! I only marked Alternate Scan i CCE4U.
