MPEG1 Multipass encoding in CCE 2.67.00.10?

I've been using CCE 2.5 with DVD2SVCD with nice results so far. Since my player needs the header trick and sometimes I get the audio out of sync, I always encode with 3 Pass MPEG1 and the results are quiet good. I decided today to test the new CCE version but apparently it does not encode in multipass mode for MPEG-1.
Is there anyway to workaround this or should I stick to the old 2.5 version? Is there any version between 2.5 and this last one enconding in this mode and? Should I upgrade?

Since you mention DVD2SVCD and the "header trick", I don't think you were actually encoding in MPEG-1. The header trick is usually used to trick the player into thinking that the MPEG-2 stream is actually MPEG-1. So I'm almost sure that DVD2SVCD encodes in MPEG-2 for you.

But apart from that you are right, newer versions of CCE-SP can no longer encode VBR MPEG-1.

Well, I did not make myself clear.

I really was encoding in VBR MPEG-1 using DVD2SVCD and CCE 2.5, thus not using the header trick anymore. But I'm a newbie and I was doing the header trick with TMPEnc!... Today I tried a all new different aproach.
I now encode with DVD2SVCD, CCE 2.5, 3 pass VBR MPEG-2 (bitrate from 1800 to 2500 and 128 stereo sound) but then I use bbMPEG to multiplex as MPEG-1. After some testing with the bbMPEG settings now everything is working 100% and my Sony DVP-NS305 reads this movies, recorded in cheap CD-RWs, as smoothly as comercial DVDs.
