View Full Version : Fullscreen playback without scaling using MPC?

I am using MPC and want to playback interlaced video through my TV-Out.
But my TV-Out only supports 800x600 or 640x480. I use PAL and 800x600 and found out, that the TV-Out doesn't scale the 800x600, so will be suitable for interlaced-out. But all players I've seen so far will resize the Video in Fullscreen mode. But this is bad for interlaced video.
My question: Is there a possibility to playback a Video at 100% size in Fullscreen with a black border around it?

I think it's automatic, maybe the resolution is too low, try tvtool, with it you can use 1024*768.

I am already using TVTool. A rez like 1024x768 (which isn't possible with my TV-out) won't help!!!
I do NOT want to let the video is being scaled, because if scaling is applied, the interlaced pixel-strukture will be destroyed, which will result in jitter and jerkyness during playback.
That why I want NO SCALING.
my Video has a resolution of 768x576 pixels.
the TV-Out resolution is 800x600px.
now I want to let the video as it is and center it in the Screen.
that means a Border around it.
Left = 16px
Top = 12px
Right = 16px
Bottom = 12px --->> of border

First You can set any specific resolution for fullscreen mode in options of MPC. I use 640x480 in it because my nvidia windows settings are limited to min 800x600.
Second there is in rightclick menu option VideoFrame->NormalSize instead of tuch window from Inside etc. It will give you 100% size and you can scale it freely with numpad keys too.

You can download the modified nVidia driver with special resolutions 768x576 and 720x480 on http://tvtool.info/
With this driver I can set the TV out reolution to 768x576 in TVtool. I have successfully played back interlaced XviD but I haven't found any way to control the field order so sometimes the playback is jumpy on the TV. Then just press stop and play again and it may correct itself...

my Abit Siluro GF 2MX doesn't work with the detonator driver :angry:
I only can use the "original" Abit-Driver. What a crap!
I've found a .reg-File which enables those 7xx*576 resolutions. But the Chrontel-TV-Out-Chip seems to be unable to support 576-lines resoultution for TV-Out.
