Well I double checked my new found easy street in AC3 encoding and realized that you would need to install Sonic DVD Architect 1.0 and Vegas Video 4 to be able to easily render any audio file to AC3. I got the entire package so I was mistaken in thinking that if you installed Vegas 4 you would be set. It was only after I begun building software on the new Machine that I realized. I apologise for the misinformation. SO if you're having problems encoding AC3 which is the only format I recomend for DVD, you would have to get Vegas 4 and DVD Architect 1.0. Another useful program you would need is AC3 Delay Corrector to correct the delays that often happend after a DVD rip. The web site is http://home.t-online.de/home/520072193568-0001/. Make sure you get the (GfaWin23.Ocx and GfaWin22.Ocx) files. There is the GfaWin23.Ocx on the site but you may need GfaWin22.Ocx on some systems especially if you are using XP Home Edition. I found GfaWin22.Ocx on this site:http://home.snafu.de/joehurst/prog/gb32.html. Good Luck and remember "NEVER GET TO A POINT WHERE YOU HAVE TO EDIT AC3 FILES" always go back to your source.
