Are there good noise filtering programs out there?

Well im currently looking hard for a digital camcorder and some of the issues that have popped up in some of the reivews is hear the tape move, wind across the mic, and some other general background noise problems i believe.

Is there a program out there that might be able to take care of this?

What im thinking of doing is uploading the video to my computer, spliting off the audio file, dickering around with it then slapping the two back together.

I'm using cool edit pro 2 denoiser feature for a while, I think it is better than Soundforge's built in denoiser. Just take a sample of couple of sec from the end/beginning of your audio, then denoise with good settings.
