Hello,

I have been trying to get my HEAT dvd down to a decent size so it will fit on one DVD-5 blank. I have had no luck and am really confused will all the different tools I need to use to get this to work. Is there an all-in-one tool that will,

1) strip out extras and un-used audio and subtitles
2) re-encode video at lower bit rate (with info on how much space will be saved at each down step so you max video quality per the space limitationf of DVD-Rs)
3) keeps the audio and video together during this whole process.
4) reconfigure ifo files so the movie plays after all of these steps are taken.
5) take the video_TS folder and burn it (great if in this same program, but ok if you must use a seperate dvd burning software)

I really want to keep the quality of the video as high as possible and keep the audio at its original quality (DD 5.1 or DTS 5.1).

I have tried using rempeg2 but the movie is very choppy and I lose the audio and must perform a second step to get the audio back into one usable VOB file.

When I try and use TMPG it does not like the project (.d2v) file DVD2AVI created of my movie so it just errors. And currently I cannot strip out enough stuff with IFOEDIT to get the movie down to 4.7 Gbs.

When I use DVDToolBox to split the movie into two disks, it runs fine off of my computer (which maybe means there is something wrong with my burning SW), but then when I burn the VIDEO_TS folder with Record NOW DX from veritas, the disks are not playable in my dvd rom drive (or the burner). Yes, DX has the "recognize the VIDEO_TS" option selected.

I would like this process to be a simple and painless as possible. Is there such an app/tool that provides some, or all of the list above? I would even settle for a tool that allows you to re-encode the video (vob) file to a lower bit rate, while keeping the audio included, that way I can just burn the re-encoded vob file immediatly, and not have to re-insert the audio back in.

Thanks for any help.

There is a program called DVD2DVD-R you find it here http://www.mrbass.org for this program you need Cinema Craft Encoder as a plugin. The program shows it self.:D

I can't believe you even tried to search once for what you are asking. THere is a dedicated forum about these tools here called
"One click DVD backup solutions "

I suggest you browse it a bit. There are several tools you may use for your purpose : DVDShrink, InstantCopy, DVD2one, DVD95copy.
If you want to go the manual (and more complicated if you are new to this), have a look at the forum called "DoItFast4U & DoCCE4U ".

I also suggest you read the forum rules before posting.

I don't think he did any search nor any reading through the forums, otherwise he wouldn't have posted here, when his post has nothing to see with "DVD burning" issue.

I don't see any particular reason to start discussing about this now. The point is to help him solve his problem. I hope I pointed him to the appropriate info, so let's hope he can find what he is looking for there.

Waldok is right, check out the one click backup section of this board. you'll have to read a lot of posts to find the answers you seek.

I'm closing this thread, since it really doesn't belong in here anyway.
