Hi,
I've been trying to backup robocop but there is a problem with the dvd due to there being the original version and the gory version. I can't seem to get it to work properly.
when i try and backup I get the extended editions at the beginning of the backup and then the standard edit afterwards. Whats the best program to use?
thanx

It looks like some seamless branching DVD to me. That means that some parts of movie are used by both editions.
Try to look in IFO file for the main title with Ifoedit and find if the same VOB-IDs are used in different PGCs. It looks complicated but there is a guide for this DVD on Doom9īs page:

If you are not sure about this donīt be afraid to post again :).

Coona's right - it is seamles branching - I ripped this sucker a few months back. The Director's Cut is only about 30 seconds longer than the original but the extra scenes are all at the start of the VOB set. If I remeber right the first real cell is Cell ID 7 then it goes 8,9,1,10,11,2,12 etc with 1-6 being the VOB IDs for the gory scenes.
I had to rip by VOB ID without a guide and the result was very good quality but lost ability to FF/RW due to butchered VOBs/nav packs.
Good luck - you're going to need it!
