PB probs with DVD-RW on standalone Player

I burned a DVD via Nero (UDF) and its working on my computer, but not on my standalone-DVD-player.
why is that?
I tried burning via Nero (Videomode) but that doesn't work at all...
do DVD-R and DVD-RW have to be burned in Videomode to work on a standalone-player?!

b) does your standalone support dvd-rw? not all do
