I am wondering does it has an easy way to add a new subtitle into a DVD.

I am backuping a dvd which has none existing subtitle. but I found one to fit this dvd and I want to mux it into my backup dvdr, but I don't want to sacrifice the beautiful menu. Am I must use scenarist to reauthoring the dvd?? Or it's an easy way to do that?

It doesn't matter that the menu can control the subtitle or not, it can be choose by remote is enough.

reauthor as usual, put the new subtitle in. Ifoupdate with the original menu files and Get VTS Sectors.

U ll end up with a backup of the original + the sub steam that u have to select from the remote.

how about the "author new dvd" in ifoedit? can I reauthor in it?

btw: which mode do I choice in ifoupdate? "Standard"? "Maestro Multi-PGC"? "Adjust Cell Mode" or "Cell Only Mode"?

I am using IFOupdate v0.71 and windows2000, but IFOupdate always show me error: "Run time error '6':Overflow" then quit. I havn't use IFOupdate to do anything yet.

IFOupdate always terminates at "Copied Audio/subpicture table" and show a dialog: " Runtime error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument".

Perhaps u've done it allready but it doesn't hurt to suggest. Throw away the ini file of ifoupdate and try again. Better still download the ver 0.72 that is supposed to fix this error.

U select the appropriate options as per reauthoring. If u duplicate the exact structure u use Standard mode.

If in Maestro u create playlists u use Maestro Mode.

If u just position the chapter points at the exact timecode as the original u can use the 'Adjusted Cell Mode'. This is the most powerfull option and it will reposition the assets and would create the neccessary pgcs to much the original structure.

Thank you, oddyseus.
You are obviously an expert in this field! Your explain is very useful to me.

I download IFOupdate 0.72 and continue my job, the new version DOES fix some bug but maybe my procedure is wrong, error still ocured. I am wondering it is because my new VOBs have different numbers of cells with the original one. I did a seach in this forum and got some result, but I can't get the point. I don't know how to fix my problem yet.

Here is the url that have the same situation like me: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39675&highlight=timeline+drag

I can't find the answer...:(

Perhaps we can work things together. U can send me the two ifos, original and reauthored one I ll look at them and describe in detail what u should have done.
