Trying to get to SVCD. Have the bin and cue and made MPG using VCDgear.

The movie is SVCD and says it is PAL at 25 FPS (480 x 576).

I keep getting errors when I try to open in TMPG or burning software (Stomp and Nero). It says the video is PAL and gives some error.

Never really did VCD before, always work with DVD.

Since I have the cue/bin and the MPG, can anyone recommend the best steps to take to convert and burn to VCD.

Thanks

B

as long as you have the cue/bin file, just burn them using cdrwin or any other burning programs that accept cue/bin files; if your don't have cdrwin, download it from there website (demo) www.goldenhawk.com

you said you where burning a vcd (i think), but your mpeg is in a svcd format, so you will have to burn it as svcd and not as a vcd.

Thanks Dani82. I did use Nero, it seemed to work alright other than the fact that my player doesn't recogonize SVCD format.

I wish the MPG would open in TMPG so I could convert. The error I keep getting is "File XXXXXX.mpg can not open, or unsupported."

Suggestions?

i don't know what that error means, but do you have a mpeg2 codec, cause svcd are mpeg2.

here's something worth reading:

Thanks again, Dani. I'll try installing the codec and see if I can get TMPG to open.

Like I said, I can burn the Cue to disk using Nero but I want to take the SVCD (2 cd's) and make it on one DVD. My stupid Sony DVD player cant play SVCD's.

I have been messing with the SVCD to DVD guide but have had no success as of yet.

Maybe something better out there. Most of my SVCD's are 2 cds and will fit nicely on one DVD without re-encoding. I would rencode if I had to.
